Book Hauls

eBooks: Recent Bookhaul!

For some reason, when I do a normal bookhaul post, I almost always forget books I’ve bought via Googleplay for my tablet. I don’t know why?! It’s not because I feel like they are ‘lesser’ than the other books, I guess it’s just if they don’t feel physically in my hands, I forget they’re there. So anyway, I thought I’d update you with some recent eBook purchases.

*Sidenote: I tend to buy books in eBook format for two reasons. One, if I’m not too sure about picking up the book, then I’ll tend to get it for my phone instead of a physical copy. And two, if a book is significantly cheaper, I’ll buy it on my tablet instead.

Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig

This book has been catching my eye for so long. I’m pretty sure I included it in a ‘Books I Want to Buy’ list from last year, and I’ve finally done it. I’ve heard brilliant things about this book, and I quite fancy picking up a non’fiction choice soon, so maybe it’ll be this one.

How to Fall in Love by Cecelia Ahern

I used to be a huge Cecelia Ahern fan back in the day! PS I Love You was one of my favourite books 5+ years ago, and something about this one just tempted me so take a step back in time and try something new from her. When I purchased this one, I was in the midst of some pretty heavy fantasy books, so that’s probably another reason why I picked this up recently.

Ronit and Jamil by Pamela L Laskin

I heard about this one on Booktube somewhere and it sounded absolutely lovely. I adore retelling of famous works, and was really intrigued by the concept of this Romeo and Juliet retelling. It’s also written in prose, which considering how much I loved Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson, I’m sure I’ll like this one just as much!

American Street by Ibi Zoboi

This was an anticipated read for me this year, and I’m excited to have a copy. This was so much cheaper in the eBook version too! I’ve heard mixed reviews, to be honest, but I’m anxious to make my own opinions soon!

The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

Such a beloved series that I hope will live up to my expectations! I’ve held off from reading this because I can’t really start another series right now – I’ve got too many on the go, haha! So I’m going to wait until I’ve finished another series and then delve into this one. Not too long a wait, I hope!

There we go – a couple of eBooks I’ve purchased recently! Anyone else picked up anything good?

Happy e-reading, all!

  1. Hi Alice

My name is Shaun and I’m an author, just wondering if you consider reviewing books, in exchange for a free ebook copy?

Here is a link to my YA fantasy novel (Ewan Pendle and the White Wraith) on amazon, so you can have a look and decide if it may or may not be something you would be interested in reading –

Thanks for taking the time to consider my enquiry, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Best regards,

(p.s. The Book Thief is a personal favourite of mine for sure!)
