November Wrap Up: What I’ve Read

*closes eyes and turns away from what I was supposed to read*

Sad times. November was not a reading month for me. I went back to work and reading time went out the window. So let’s start by saying that I have not read The Muse or Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – and here’s what I actually did read:

The Boy Who Lost Fairyland by Cathrynne M Valente

Read/Unread/Currently Reading and Procrastinating

So I read the first chapter and just wasn’t in the right frame of mind for it. I can read these books really quickly if I’m in reading mode but if I’m in a bit of a slump, it’s just not going to happen. I am really wanting to get to this soon though, but I guess my goal of finishing the series before New Year might be pushed back a little.

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

Read/Unread/Currently Reading and not really enjoying

I just didn’t get into it. I found the characters annoying and not engaging and I was just a little bored. I’m thinking it might have been the slump-iness so maybe I’ll try again later.

Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes

Read/Unread/Currently Reading

Yay, Alice finished a book! Woohoo! I launched into this book after my slump-buster book (below) and really enjoyed it! I loved reading about the woman and the world behind some awesome shows like Grey’s and Scandal. Such an empowering story of life, too! My review will be up soon!

And the award for unexpected read goes to:

Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout

Read/Unread/Currently Reading

Yup, I can’t really imagine myself reading this either. Truth is I wanted something easy that I could speed through to get me back on track and this did the trick. It didn’t blow my mind but it wasn’t the worst book I’ve ever read. And my slump is gone, so it did the job! Review here.

Look out for my December TBR – I’m going to make sure it’s a shorter list so it’s more manageable in what is sure to be a crazy, Christmas-filled month. Hope you’ve had a successful reading month, guys!
